After attending the workshop, participants will:

· understand the challenge, need and context for impactful and influential relationships in work today

· be able to use “push” and “pull” behaviours in interactions with people

· use change tools to overcome resistance to change and increase personal impact and influence

· know how to agree expectations as a basis for building and managing relationships

· have facilitation and interpersonal skills such as active listening; effective questioning; confronting; giving and receiving feedback

· have made progress on a specific consulting challenge that they bring to the workshop, and have practical tools to work on similar issues in the future

· have a personal development plan based on self assessment and feedback from other learners and facilitators in “practicum sessions”

Workshop objectives

Facilitators:

Lynne Melis  has been  a Senior Consultant with Positive Charge International  for the past 11 years and has  worked with a variety of clients in different industries.   She has run many consulting skills workshops and consulting projects in the financial services, oil and chemical sectors. Lynne also specialises in designing and developing learning material or other interventions according to client needs and requirements. Lynne has an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch. and is a registered assessor and moderator.

Sue von Hirschfeld is an entrepreneur and people developer with 27 years experience in creating learning and change in diverse cultures and business environments.  Sue worked in the private sector for 12 years before establishing a consultancy business in 1989.  She has worked and published in South Africa, the UK and Australia.   Her work is informed by a Masters degree in Industrial & Organisational Psychology and by her own experience in developing people and running a business.
